Tonight I was on a “secret mission”. IT – SYSTEMHAUS had invited me to their Christmas party and I designed a short tour from Baumwall, the company’s headquarters, to the Fleetschlösschen, which served as a destination and evening activity exclusively for the employees. The employees knew nothing of their good fortune beforehand… Our tour of Hamburg took us over the Niederbaumbrücke bridge and into the Speicherstadt, the largest connected warehouse complex in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since this year. Through numerous glimpses into the past, presented on a portable device, we were able to imagine the area shortly before, during and after the construction of the Speicherstadt. Explanations of the various construction phases and warehouse blocks rounded off the informative part of our Speicherstadt tour in Hamburg. It should also be mentioned that, as a qualified city guide in Hamburg, I timed the stopover at the HafenCity Christmas market so that we survived the brief rain shower without getting wet. Many thanks to all the participants! I had a lot of fun and I hope to see you all again!
