I have just returned from a training course in Lübeck, including the Hansemuseum, which was held by the Hamburg Guides e.V. association with 30 experienced and future tour guides eager to learn. As a qualified tour guide, I not only offer city tours in Hamburg but also in northern Germany, for example in Lübeck. After we guides had learned about the history of Schleswig-Holstein on the way from Hamburg to Lübeck, we were able to discover Lübeck on a short city tour and then see for ourselves the new “European Hanseatic Museum”, which offers many interactive gadgets for visitors with an affinity for technology. For lunch, we Hamburg Guides went to the Schiffergesellschaft von 1535, where we fortified ourselves for the city tour of Lübeck. In this great atmosphere, I was able to talk to the tour guides from Hamburg and the surrounding area who had traveled with me. The Hamburg Guides will document the city tour in order to expand their basic training as tour guides in Hamburg. Heilig-Geist-Hospital, Jacobikirche, Willy-Brandt-Haus, inner courtyards, World Heritage Site, Katharinenkirche, Marienkirche, Buddenbrooks, Rathaus; this tour through the Hanseatic metropolis was pure sightseeing in Lübeck. After a brief look at the world of marzipan, we returned to Hamburg and exchanged ideas with the tour guides on the way. This tour through Lübeck also helps us in Hamburg, because the Hanseatic League is a big topic in northern Germany. Hopefully our training courses will continue to be so successful so that we Hamburg Guides can continue to develop our skills. Besides Hamburg, Lübeck is of course worth a visit! Feel free to book a city tour in Lübeck or a tour guide through Schleswig-Holstein with me!
