Today, the Chamber of Commerce, together with Hamburg Tourism, hosted an event entitled “Internationalization of Hamburg Tourism (Part 7) in the newly designed Emigration Museum on the Veddel: the BallinStadt. As a certified tour guide in Hamburg, my association Hamburg Guides e. V. also supports attending such training courses.
In addition to information about the percentage of visitors to Hamburg from the USA, we were able to gain an insight into what our guests from North America look for and value. We were given useful tips for dealing with them, some of which can of course be applied to all guests. After the two-hour event, we still had the opportunity to maintain our professional network. Many thanks to the HK and BallinStadt for the fact that such events, which serve as further training for us tour guides, can be held in such an informal way.
I also took the opportunity to discover the new exhibition. It offers a lot of new and, above all, current information about migration, be it emigration or flight. Really worth seeing.
