From July 24 to 29, 2016, I was with a tour group from the Kiel-based coach company AK Touristik on the road in England. In consistently good weather we visited the impressive university city of Cambridge with its countless colleges and got a taste of royalty at Windsor Castle, Queen Elizabeth’s retreat, we explored England’s former capital, Winchester, We explored England’s former capital, Winchester, including its imposing cathedral and tried to solve the riddles of the mystical Stonehenge, we were enchanted by the charm of the impressive Oxford and the pomp of the largest non-royal aristocratic residence, Blenheim Palace, before conquering England’s capital and metropolis of millions, London, as the grand finale.
